New!

gulf_between

A song written to express grief for the numberless inhabitants of the waters, shores and wetlands of the Gulf of Mexico and its many ecosystems, after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster.

The Gulf Between Us

In hopes that we may someday close the gulf between us and our understanding of how closely tied we are with all life on earth, that the earth itself, its waters, tides, and marine life form a delicate web which we depend upon dearly.

As a species, are we recklessly committing eco-suicide... eco-cide? If so, why?

Somewhere underneath, do we desire a "sterile" metal box filled and sprayed with manufactured chemicals to call our new home? Do we fear being connected with all life, our own alive-ness, so much that we would essentially kill ourselves, our ability to continue to exist on the only planet that can sustain us?
